Hoghton Tower

Hoghton Tower may seem like a peaceful family attraction, but it hides a darker secret. Once they close their doors to the public thousands of ducks and pheasants are used as live targets for shooting practice.
Animal welfare groups are campaigning peacefully to make the public aware of the death sentence hanging over thousands of birds at Hoghton Tower each year.

Cruelty Captured

Video footage of the Hoghton Tower shoot reveals wounded ducks twitching in agony as the shooters left them to die slowly, concerned instead with their next target rather than the suffering of the bird they had just blasted from the sky.

Hoghton Tower Bloody Business - For the privilege of killing ducks and pheasants each "gun" will pay £1,000 or more per day. Around £100,000 will be generated from the senseless destruction of 8,000 ducks and 25,000 pheasants each year.

The Trust About Hoghton Tower

Bernard de Hoghton

In April 2007 Bernie told the public that, "The syndicate will no longer be staging any of the four duck shoots." In September 2007 1,000s of ducks were shot at Hoghton Tower and each year after. What does that tell you?

Who Hired Snoopy?

Within days of launching the Hoghton Tower campaign a female campaigners started receiving unsolicited letters. These developed into abusive and threatening text messages. Who hired the private investigator?

Laughable Claim

On the 17 April 2007 Sir Bernard de Hoghton told the Chorley Citizen, "I was hoping to have cross-table discussions with these people [protesters] but they are completely blinkered." Quite simply his claim is laughable.
