Assaulted Filming Duck Shoot
An animal welfare campaign lodged a complaint of assault with police following a duck shoot at Hoghton Tower.
The alleged assault occurred during a duck shoot at the Tower. As monitors filmed a duck being chased by a dog in the River Darwen one of the monitor's was grabbed from the side and 'ragged' to prevent him filming the duck shoot. A beater from the Hoghton Tower shoot then stood in front of the monitor blocking him.
Unedited video footage of the incident was handed to the police. However, you guessed it, police decided not to prosecute claiming they "couldn't be sure of the location of the incident".
