Hoghton Tower Employee Blocks Public Footpath
Police were called to Hoghton Tower after shoot their employee blocked a public footpath trapping two female shoot monitors for over half an hour.
Deliberately Blocking Public Footpath
A gamekeeper on the Hoghton Tower shoot, used a 4x4 to block the footpath at Riley Green, Hoghton, preventing anyone from getting past even on foot. When police operations contacted the vehicle's registered owner, Hoghton Tower shoot, they were told he was trying to get home which is strange because the lane doesn't lead to Hoghton Tower.
Only when police finally arrived did the gamekeeper allow the two female monitors to pass.
A spokesperson for North West Animal Welfare commented, "This is no way for the Hoghton Tower shoot to behave towards people who do not agree with their wildlife killing policy. The fact it was two females trapped by the Hoghton Tower shoot staff is even more cowardly."
