Shooter Posts Homophobic Abuse on Hoghton Tower Petition
Shooter posted homophobic abuse
Animal welfare campaigners were left disgusted after a shooter posted homophobic comments to deface a public petition site against the Hoghton Tower shoot.
The messages were directed at friends of one of the campaigners and showed the mentality of the people we are campaigning against.
Because of the nature of the comments they were immediately reported to the police. Despite admitting an offence had been committed no action was taken against the shooter who posted the messages.
Since starting the campaign against the Hoghton Tower shoot we have also received a letter containing racist abuse aimed at one of our supporters. Again this was reported to the police, and again no action was taken.
It's not uncommon for those who participate in bloodsports have a high opinion of themselves and to hold both homophobic and racist views. 'Earth Dog, Running Dog' magazine, which is popular amongst gamekeepers and terriermen, is edited and published by a keen supporter of the BNP for example.
